This is a sequence of photos taken over about 30 seconds after running the generator with heater off till a good "Ion Cloud" had been established, then turning the heater on.

The heater stirs up the water very nicely and never too fast. The heater puts that small amount of heat exactly in the right place for efficient thermal convection stirring currents. Not only does the heater/lamp light things up in an attractive manner, but the near optical round shape of the beaker magnifies everything a great deal for up close observation.

It's almost like watching through a microscope.
